Request Account and Data Deletion for TripPA
TripPA is an app designed to help teachers manage school trips and share important updates with parents and guardians. We work in partnership with a data management company to securely access school data, and act as a data processor. This means your school is the data controller, and retains full responsibility for the data we process on their behalf.
In some cases, TripPA also collects data directly—for example, during free trials—and in those cases, we act as the data controller.
How to request deletion
If you would like your TripPA account and associated data to be deleted:
- Email tech@trippa.net with the subject line: “Data Deletion Request – TripPA”.
- Include your full name, your role (e.g. parent, staff member, or trial user), and the name of the school or organisation.
- We will confirm what data we hold and process your request accordingly.
If you are using TripPA as part of a school deployment, we will contact the school to request authorisation before proceeding. If your data was collected directly by us (e.g. during a free trial), we can action your request without further approval.
Trial accounts and data we collect
When you sign up for a free trial of TripPA, we collect some personal data to create your account and tailor the experience. This includes:
- First and last name
- Your role (e.g. trip leader, EVC, IT, etc.)
- Email address
- Organisation name
- Type of school (college, independent, state, MAT, etc.)
This information is processed by TripPA as a data controller. It is not shared with any third parties and is used solely for onboarding, support, and evaluation purposes during the trial period.
Retention and deletion of trial data
- We retain your trial account data for 90 days after you trial ends, in case you’d like to continue or need a record of your setup.
- You can request deletion at any time by emailing tech@trippa.net, and we will delete your data within 7 working days.
- Anonymised data (e.g. aggregated app usage) may be retained for analytics.
What data will be deleted?
Depending on how your account was set up (via school or free trial), we will delete:
- Your TripPA user account and login credentials
- Contact details and any preferences or role-based settings
- Device tokens used for push notifications
- Usage metadata linked to your identity
- Your details from our mailing list
What data may be retained?
- Anonymised or aggregated data may be retained for internal analysis
- System logs may be retained for up to 30 days for security and auditing
